A yellow weather warning has come into effect as a new wave of severe conditions is set to impact Cyprus over the coming hours.

A combination of prolonged rainfall, isolated thunderstorms, and strong northeastern winds will intermittently affect the island, potentially causing localized disruptions.

According to the Department of Meteorology, the weather warning has been valid from 07:00 on Saturday until 07:00 a.m. on Sunday.

The advisory, issued early this morning, stresses that total rainfall during this 24-hour period is likely to locally exceed 55 millimeters, prompting authorities to advise caution for those traveling.
