Another demand for answers lands at the Presidential Palace from parents who lost their child in the failures of Cyprus’ system, seeking accountability. Three months after the death of 33-year-old transplant patient Yiannis Lampitsis, his parents insist on clear answers. In their letter to Cyprus President Nikos Christodoulides, they denounce serious omissions in the management of their son's health by both public and private hospitals and express fears of a cover-up, citing the "prolonged silence" of the authorities.

They describe in detail how Yiannis visited the Emergency Department four times without being admitted in time, how he was never examined by the specialist doctor, and a series of other failures. These parents lost their child, and after so much pain and hardship, the very least that should be honored is a clear answer. Why did this happen, who bears responsibility, and what measures will be taken to ensure it never happens again? Will they, too, be added to the growing list of families left waiting, when a proper reply could at least help prevent others from facing the same ordeal?
