AC Omonia celebrated the 22nd league title in their history on Saturday night after a commanding 3-0 victory over Aris Limassol at a packed GSP Stadium.
The result mathematically secured the championship with four matches remaining in the Cyprus League by Stoiximan season.
At the final whistle, players, supporters and club officials erupted in celebrations, marking Omonia’s return to the summit of Cypriot football after a five-year absence.

Celebrations continued late into the night, culminating at the club’s headquarters on Papanikoli Street, where thousands of fans gathered. The team arrived on an open-top bus to a rapturous applause from supporters.
“I am very happy for the Omonia fans. We waited five years and achieved it in a very convincing way,” club president Stavros Papastavrou told Cytavision after the match.
Looking ahead, he added that qualification for the UEFA Champions League league phase is the club’s next major target. “With the team we have, it is naturally a goal. It will not be easy, and we know that, but we will do our best,” he said.

Head coach Henning Berg praised the collective effort behind the title win. “It was a team effort from everyone — the staff and the players. We are happy to be champions; Europe can wait, this is not the right moment,” he said.
Berg also highlighted the work done behind the scenes, crediting the club’s leadership and staff for laying the foundations for success.
With the title secured, Omonia will represent Cyprus in the UEFA Champions League for the 2026–27 season.
Nearly 20,000 tickets were sold for the decisive match at the GSP Stadium, with 19,525 supporters filling the stands in the capital to witness the title-clinching victory.
