Cyta Remains Strongest Player in Mobile Market

Epic, Primetel and Cablenet hold steady amid slight share shifts, new telecom data shows

Cyta continues to lead Cyprus’s mobile telecommunications market, according to the latest data released by the Office of the Commissioner for Electronic Communications and Postal Regulation (OCECPR).

The company ranks first in all major categories - contract subscribers, unlimited data–voice–SMS plans, and prepaid users.

Cyta’s overall mobile market share stood at 51% at the end of June 2025, compared with 51.1% in December 2024 and 49.9% a year earlier.

Epic slips, Primetel and Cablenet gain ground

Epic’s market share declined slightly to 27.3%, from 27.7% at the end of December 2024 and 28.8% in June 2024.

Primetel increased its share to 11.2% from 10.8%, while Cablenet also inched up to 10.6% from 10.4%. Among mobile contract subscribers, Cyta maintained its dominant position with 52.5% in the first half of 2025, compared to 52.6% in December 2024. Epic followed with 28% (down from 28.2%), while Cablenet rose to 11% (from 10.6%) and Primetel held 8.5% (from 8.6%).

Unlimited data, voice and SMS plans

In the unlimited plan segment, Cyta held 42.9% of the market, followed by Epic with 32.9%, Cablenet with 13.8%, and Primetel with 10.4%.

Cyta also led among prepaid mobile users, with a 46.9% share. Epic followed with 25.3%, Primetel with 18.3%, and Cablenet with 9.5%.
