Total Deposits Show 4.7% Increase in February, Loans up 12.3%

Deposits of Cyprus residents exhibited an increase of €250 million.

Total deposits recorded an annual increase of 4.7% in February, according to data published on Thursday by the Central Bank of Cyprus. At the same time, total loans went up 12.3%.

Total deposits in February 2026 recorded a net increase of €202.2 million, compared with a net decrease of €851.2 million in January 2026. The annual growth rate of total deposits stood at 4.7%, compared with 5.3% in January 2026.

The outstanding amount of total deposits reached €57.2 billion in February 2026.

Deposits of Cyprus residents exhibited an increase of €250 million. More analytically, households’ deposits increased by €104.1 million, while deposits of non-financial corporations recorded a decrease of €32.2 million. Deposits of the remaining domestic sectors exhibited a total increase of €178 million.

According to CBC, total loans in February 2026 recorded a net increase of €326.2 million, compared with a net increase of €76.4 million in January 2026. The annual growth rate of total loans stood at 12.3%, compared with 11.2% in January 2026.

The outstanding amount of total loans reached €27.3 billion in February 2026.

Loans to Cyprus residents exhibited an increase of €110.9 million. More analytically, loans to households and non-financial corporations increased by €54.9 million and €60.7 million respectively. Loans to the remaining domestic sectors exhibited a total decrease of €4.7 million.
