Cyprus's parliamentary elections on Sunday produced a six-party House of Representatives, with the centre-right Democratic Rally (DISY) emerging as the largest party and the nationalist ELAM recording the most striking gains of the night, roughly doubling its representation from the previous parliament. Final turnout reached 66.4%, with 378,150 of the 569,182 registered voters casting a ballot, a meaningful recovery from the 63.9% recorded in 2021.
Nineteen party lists and nine independent candidates competed for 56 seats, with a record 753 candidates on the ballot. The threshold to enter parliament stood at 3.6%. EDEK, the social democratic movement, failed to clear it, and its leader Nikos Anastassiou announced his resignation before later saying collective party bodies would decide his future.

The result by party
DISY, led by House President Annita Demetriou, finished first and will form the largest bloc in the new House. "Citizens chose security and stability," Demetriou said at party headquarters on Pindarou Street, where supporters gathered with flags and car horns. AKEL came second, with its leader Stefanos Stefanou greeted by supporters singing "Bella Ciao" outside their headquarters in a jubilant atmosphere. ELAM finished third, with leader Christos Christou declaring a "tremendous victory" and noting the party had doubled its strength. DIKO held fourth place; its leader Nikolas Papadopoulos said the party remains "the sole stable force of the centre" and pledged initiatives to reunify the centrist space. ALMA, the new movement led by Odysseas Michailides, and Direct Democracy (Amesi Dimokratia), led by Fidias Panayiotou, both cleared the threshold and will enter parliament for the first time, each projected to hold around four seats.
