Shooting in Australia's Bondi Beach Leaves 10 Killed

Australian police have announced the arrest of two people following reports of a shooting incident at Sydney’s Bondi Beach, while Australian media are reporting multiple injuries.

“The police operation is ongoing, and we continue to urge the public to avoid the area,” said the New South Wales Police in a statement to [X].

The Sydney Morning Herald reported that one of the alleged shooters was injured by police gunfire, while the other was arrested. The newspaper also noted that there are several injured individuals, and television networks Sky and ABC broadcast footage showing people lying on the ground.

Videos posted on [X] appear to show people at Bondi Beach fleeing as gunshots and police sirens are heard.

“We have been made aware of an ongoing security situation at Bondi. We urge anyone in the area to follow updates from New South Wales Police,” said a spokesperson for Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese earlier.
